Happy New Year, y'all! This past year has flown by, and we are in full swing with 2017 event preparations! We are excited to announce a few changes this year that we believe will allow us to make this event more successful. The first change is that we have moved the date for the 2017 event back one week due to high school graduation. This year's camping will be open from May 10th to May 14th, with the family gathering on May 13th. Another change we made this year was to the location of the fundraiser. The fundraiser will be held on March 11th, 2017 at the Lake Ray Roberts Area Elks Lodge located at 1601 Marina Circle in Sanger, TX. Follow us on Facebook for more details!
Fall is almost upon us! It's hard to believe that relief to this heat is just around the corner! This is Vice President Amber Funck. I would like to take a moment to thank all of our hard working volunteers that make each years' events such a huge success. As many of you know, R&R Team North Texas is a non-profit organization. Our board members are all members of your local communities, local business owners, sports parents/supporters, etc. Most of us not only hold down full time jobs, but many of us also volunteer in other capacities. The sole mission of our organization is to simply give back to those who have served our country. Any person or group who seeks to defame our organization or destroy that mission will not be invited to join future events. Now, with that being said...on to the good news and updates!

-March 12, 2016 - Fish Fry and Auction - American Legion Post 550 located at 905 N. Foundation Dr. Pilot Point, TX - Dinner starts at 2pm, auction at 3pm.
-May 18-21, 2016 - Military Family Gathering at Lake Ray Roberts Johnson Branch State Park
We are still selling raffle tickets for the Cowboy Pit Grill - $5 each or 5/$20. We have also had an 85 Cajun Bass Boat donated by Seth Goodling! We are selling raffle tickets for that as well! Tickets are $20.00 each. Only 250 tickets will be sold. Boat will be awarded once all 250 tickets are sold. Contact us for tickets!!!

Preparations have begun for the 2016 Military Family Gathering! We are so excited to honor our military and their families for the sacrifices they've made. THANK YOU. We'd like to take a minute to welcome our newest board member, Nikki Sheffield. She will be taking over for Charlotte Huff as Treasurer. Welcome! Our kick-off meeting will be held on November 1st, and it will be a closed meeting. All volunteers are encouraged to attend future meetings. Most meetings will be held the first Sunday of the month, but locations will vary. Please watch Facebook for those dates/times. We are now selling raffle tickets for a Cowboy Open Pit Grill. The annual Military Family Gathering at Lake Ray Roberts - Johnson Branch has been cancelled for 2015. Unfortunately, with the extreme flooding we’ve experienced, Texas Parks and Wildlife has closed the park until May 27th. There is not another open date to reschedule the event this year. This decision was not made lightly, and we apologize to each and every one of you that will be affected by this decision. All donations will be held until next year’s event, which just means that we’re already on track to make that the biggest event yet! This experience has also taught us that we need to consider alternate plans in the event that this type of weather should happen in the future. Please accept our sincerest apologies. We look forward to your support and participation in 2016.

BIG, BIG NEWS! The date of our annual auction and catfish dinner will be on March 14th at the American Legion in Pilot Point. Dinner will start at 2pm, and the auction will follow. This is a big event for us as it funds a large portion of the Family Gathering in May. We also need donations for the auction! Contact Lyndee Prieskop (940) 458-0233 with any questions. Our Family Gathering will be Armed Forces weekend. Camping begins May 13th, and goes through breakfast on May 17th. The Family Gathering (a.k.a. The Big Event) will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2015. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE BEFORE THE EVENT!
